As Gene mentioned, next week Is Invitational Week 100 -- a number I wasn't sure at all that we would reach. And just letting you know that we have not yet chosen next week's contest! My longtime offer to take out successful contest-suggestators out for ice cream or similar cheap eats, as long as I don't have to drive very far, stands. Please submit suggestions via the SEND RIGHT HERE button above.

BTW, the most successful suggestions tend to come with persuasive examples.

How about “potential successful ideas for future Invite contests”? I can give you 99 examples, and if you were to actually pick this one, 100.

That would be unsuccessful because the results would not be entertaining to readers— a trait shared by many suggestions we get.

Brutal judgment from the editors! LOL! Also a common trait shared by our judges. xoxoxo

Okay, so I’m still at 99.

Thanks a helluva lot, Sam. Neena is singing 99 Red Balloons into my mind's ear, non-stop.

Any time! There are other songs about 99 things, if that helps.

Zero scaramuccis for Gaetz.

This is not relevant, but I recently learned that the word "skirmish" is from Italian scaramuccio!

I think the word that is missing is "emotional" as in emotional affair, or perhaps, "affair of the heart". Most women I know would feel extremely betrayed by his behavior, even if there was no sex involved and would feel it was a form of affair. Personally I think Cheryl should dump the chump.

If they were sexting, then there was sex involved. Texting naked pictures or describing what they'd do to each other is different than just texting about your day. Maybe there was no actual physical contact, but there was sex. That's why I would consider it an affair.

Why did Cheryl marry him in the first place?

This is everybody’s opportunity to say they didn’t like a single entry printed in this week’s Invite column and not get (rightfully) jumped on.

They all sucked!

The one about the cross-eyed penguin made me chuckle.

Okay, that one was gold.

As an IT Federal contractor, the absolute worst government IT leads I ever worked for were the ones that were originally contractors that worked on the system they now "manage." Everything THEY did on the system was prefect and everything we do is wrong, despite long lists of maintenance to fix the original bugs.

Two things seen at Clark Brothers Guns that probably tell you all you need to know about Trumpistan. First, the billboard out front proudly invites you to attend sermon “on the range”, immediately before opening on Sunday morning. WWJD? Evidently he delivered his sermons, followed immediately by lessons in killing. Second thing about Clark Brothers that’ll make your head snap as you’re driving by is the big, blow-up clown arch erected on nice Saturday mornings; picture a huge Krusty the Clown. I’d call this “grooming,” but evidently the clown helps create a playful atmosphere for the kids. You know, “Come on in, boys and girls! Pick up a pocket gun and have some fun!”

Thanks for that photo, Gene. Saw that a few months ago and made a mental note to stop and take a picture on my return trip, but apparently I misplaced it. Or maybe I was too distracted by all the traffic going in and out of Clark Brothers on a Sunday morning.

I searched for "The Beet Off" and found bupkis, other than lts of "off beat" hits, and Ari Melber's show. Dammit, that must be real.

Maybe it would help to define what is considered an "affair".

It didn't help Bill Clinton much

How about “stuff that you led your SO to reasonably believe would never happen, and would make them very upset”? Of course, that could also apply to going out during midlife crisis and buying a sports car with consulting them, so maybe not.

I thought that too. Does Sexting with an AI count?
