A few personal faves: Tom Witte's "What precedes swallowing pride?", Stephen Dudzik's "What is the next street over from JesusIsThe Way?", Duncan's debate question, and Jeff Hazle's "grip it by the seams" RU.
"Male background vocalists, some of whom also joined in on guitar and keyboards, included Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, JD Souther and Steven Soles. The female background vocalists were k.d. lang, Jennifer Warnes, and Bonnie Raitt."
I donated a massive sum of money to my PBS channel's fund drive in order to get a DVD copy of that. I put it on from time to time, and sigh over how young everyone was.
Well, in the Sixties, sure. But did he keep that look? He did not. Maybe it would have saved his life! Or, who knows, maybe giving up smoking would have been the way to go. A 5-member band is a small sample size for testing the facial-hair-protection theory.
Having personally sampled most of the White Sox burger menu and, of course, watched them set the modern MLB season record for futility (to Gene's profound amusement, measured in Pools), the "correct" question for "White Sox burger" is: "What generated more runs at Guaranteed Rate Field last season than the White Sox."
I was both confused and thrilled to see the Count Basie Orchestra playing in college, until I found out they just kept the name. (Good stuff, though without the man himself. At the end they thanked us all profusely because the whole night nobody requested “In the Mood”.)
George Harrison would be on my list of five performers, not because I think he would do the greatest show ever but just because I'm a big fan and I'd like to see him. (And there are four spots remaining for more logical choices.) But man would he be pissed to have been brought back for that!
Sir Rantsalot does it for me. Also snails, Washington investments that will never mature, and the unfortunate topic of cancer. Peter Davidson was an asterisk for me; I haven't watched SNL in decades. Apologies for being old.
If someone were to ask Trump about the relative merits of various forms of IVF based upon his claim to be the “father of IVF”, his response would just be “tariffs”.
Don't necessarily agree with your take on the "Piano Man" line, "...Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness..." Could well be that "they" refers to unidentified others, i.e. "people" with knowledge of similar situations, not the drinkers themselves. And the last line in the verse ("But it's better than drinkin' alone") nicely modifies the "loneliness" you find so offensive and very much reduces the "ickiness," if not removes it altogether AFAIC.
Gotta add Eva Cassidy to the list. Certainly not as well known as the others suggested, but one of the great voices, sadly taken from us too soon. And of course, a whole host of other female singers including Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Ella, Stevie Nicks, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Janis Ian, Annie Lennox, Adele...and the list goes on.
Ha on the Arnold Palmer comeback. I never consider anythingTrump says substantively, aligned with the prosecutor’s saying: “If someone is known to lie, you never need to consider anything they say as the truth.”
I was thrilled to see that the probability that either the Dodgers or the Yankees win is 104.34%! By my calculations, assuming that the Dodgers go ahead with two outs in the bottom of the ninth in the seventh game, we should have an extra 16.36 outs to go before the Series is decided!

Yes,yes,yes,yes.
Hop on Pop's legacy wins for me.
Roy Orbison. The Coconut Grove B&W video that his family donated to PBS is priceless.

Found a video of Pretty Woman from the B&W Night on YouTube. I love Roy Orbison's music.

Here's cleanshaven George Harrison. https://guitar.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/George-Harrison-Credit-GAB-Archive-Redferns@1400x1050-800x600.jpg

My version was: What gives White Sox fans the runs a lot more often than the team?
OK, it was me that nominated Sinatra. And I should have added Count Basie.

I DID see the Glenn Miller Orchestra in college, but obviously without him. And they DID play In the Mood WITHOUT being asked.
But did they play this version?

Earlier this year I saw the Duke Ellington Orchestra commemorating Duke's 125th birthday!
Duke Ellington is still going strong in the excellent form of a cartoon ghost (voiced by Jordan Peele) in "Big Mouth."

One of my sisters saw the Beatles play twice. She didn’t hear them, but she saw them. Another sister saw Hendrix, who would be on my list of five.
He believed so sincerely in reincarnation. I hope he came back as the Dalai Lama or some other peace maker.
Woody Guthrie in his heyday of union organizing.

That was his prequel to "Daddy Don", per Tucker Carlson.

My contribution to the Easter candy entries:
Not a peep out of him: Do you want this candy my dog threw up?
Fact is, "The King" (aka Arnold Palmer) did have a special shaft. It was steel.
